"Our family business was born in 1959 when my grandfather, Joseph deStefino, made the decision to open Salon deStefino located in Shadyside, Pittsburgh. Known for its high-end reputation, beautiful boutique, and amazing team of stylists, his salon was known as the "go-to" place in Pittsburgh for hair services.
I started to fall in love with this industry when I began working at the salon at twelve years old. I knew one day I wanted to own my own salon and follow into my family's business.
I graduated from John Carroll University in 2004 and immidiately began at Empire Beauty School in Pittsburgh to receive my cosmetology license. After graduating from Empire in 2006, I opened deStefino Southside in the Southside Works during December, branching my family's name and reputation out to a new area of Pittsburgh.
After six years, this business continues to grow and find potential in all outlets of this industry. I have been blessed with such a talented and passionate team of stylists and beauty experts who everyday give me new reasons to continue loving my career.

"My passion for the beauty industry started blooming when I was twelve while working at my grandfather's salon in the Shadyside of Pittsburgh. After graduating from Empire Beauty School six years ago, my dream of owning a salon came true two weeks after getting my license.
With my license in cosmetology leading me this far, I have recently expanded into more than just owning my salon and started doing services again.
I have been certified in Los Angeles for Mink Eyelash Extensions, in New York at the Dermal Institute for Dermalogica skin-care, and also for OPI AXXIUM gel manicures. Along with these certifications, I have been trained in Virginia at the Dermal Institute for waxing.

"Finding an interest in hair and cosmetology at a young age, I began attending Beauty Tech during my junior year of high school. After graduation, I continued my education at North Hills Beauty Academy and received my license in 2001.
I had the opportunity to work under three master stylists at Salon Vivace, Mikel's Salon, and Izazu before I decided to go out and venture on my own.
In 2003, I had the chance to take part as a hair stylist for the Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show.
